Two Sets of Bathroom Shutters for Sussex!

Shutterly Fabulous supply interior shutters for all windows. These bathroom shutters in Southwick, West Sussex is no exception. Our Southwick shutters customer had two sets of shutters for her bathroom. She ordered one shutter for a large window and one shutter for a small window.

The shutters in this Southwick bathroom are made from poplar wood, and finished in Shell paint. The customer wanted tier on tier shutters, which means that there is a tier of shutter panels above another tier of shutter panels. This style of shutter set is sometimes referred to as double hung shutters. See our shutter parts explained page.

There are many advantages to this style of shutter. The main advantage is the ability to open back wide the top tier of shutters independently from the bottom tier. This means that lots of light can pour into your room through the wide open space.

One thing to take into consideration is that if you have a particularly small window, as window shutter panels have a top and bottom rail piece holding the panel together, where the two tiers meet, a bottom rail from the top tier will meet the top rail of the bottom tier. This will mean that there may possibly be a large section at the middle of the window taken up by large sections of solid wood. Less light will come through that section as there will be less room for shutter slats.

For a shutter set at a bathroom window, if the bathroom doesn’t have much ventilation, or if the shutter set will be situated particularly close to the shower or it will have a large quantity of water coming into contact with it.
