Brighton Shutters make bay cool with internal shutters

Brighton is the home of Shutterly Fabulous and as such we have installed plantation shutters on lots of windows throughout Brighton and Hove. The shutters shown in this photo are typical of white shutter installations that we undertake in Brighton.

With many Victorian terraced and semi detached homes in Brighton, these houses as often built in close proximity to the road. This means that passers by have a tendency to peer in through the downstairs lounge window! Especially in winter, when most homes have their lights on from 4pm onwards, it’s a bit like being in a goldfish bowl to have people walking past and staring straight into the room.

This, of course, if the reason why many people have traditionally had net curtains on bay type windows on Victorian properties. Net curtains still allow light into the room but create an opaque effect, where passers by cannot look right into the room.

However – let’s be honest here. Net curtains are awful. Ugly, dated, often dirty – there is little upside to them. We suspect, that’s why you’re here – looking at wooden shutters!
