This home in Wimbledon, South West London has shutters fitted at their large street level window. Being right on the street where there is lots of passing foot traffic our Wimbledon shutter customer wanted to be able to create some privacy.
After booking in with one of our consultants, they arrived at the decision of Café style shutters. Café style shutters, or half height shutters as they are often known fit half way up the window. They offer privacy and look great when the height of them is matched to the height of a natural break in your window.
The café style shutters in this Wimbledon customers lounge are fixed directly on to the face of the window surround. They have been designed so that rather than having one large shutter set, there are two separate ones. This is due to the fact that there is a lot of wall space between one window and the other. If the customer were to have one long continuous length of shutters at the window, they would be able to see wall through the slats.
By splitting the installation into two shutter sets the customer has received a much more user friendly design.
The customer opted for a softer white colour for their shutter paint finish. Cloud white shutters a less stark than bright white. They blend in well with other furnishings. The Cloud white shutters look great in almost any room. By having nice large slats, the customer achieves lots of light through their windows and still maintains privacy from passers by who are at street level and likely to look in.
