Privacy and light style bedroom shutters!

Café style bedroom shutters are not usually used in bedrooms, often customers prefer to have less light entering their bedrooms and full height shutters are preferable, but our Brighton chose to have Café style shutters in their bedroom for the exact opposite reason. Our Brighton Customer needed them for privacy more than light reduction and we were more than happy to help.

Our Brighton customer's window reveals were not very deep and they have a considerable amount of decorative architrave around the outside of the glass panel. The best option here is to fix the shutters to the window using an outside mount fixing. This means that the shutter frame is face fixed directly on to the architrave. An outside mount shutter frame has its advantages in that the shutter panels can be pulled back further from the glazing. This means that if you have handles protruding from your windows, you needn’t worry about your shutter slats not being able to open and close fully.

Most customers would prefer to have their shutter frames mounted on the inside of their window reveal, this basically means that the frame can sit either flush with the outside of the reveal, or tight to the window frame, which many customers believe can look neater. If there are handles protruding and you would still like an inside mounted frame and you have a reveal which is deep enough we can provide you with deeper frame options which still keeps your shutter frames mounted to the inside of the recess, and pulls the shutter panels further away from you window handles to prevent them from hitting the slats.

Our customers chose to have the “open sky” slat operating system, which means that with a tilt of one of the slats, the rest on that panel will open and close in unison. This open sky system gives a modern clean lined finish to shutter panels and gives the shutters a less traditional look. Customers can choose whether to have the open sky finish or to have a more traditional push rod. They can opt for café style shutters or one of our other designs. As Shutterly Fabulous shutters are entirely bespoke they can be manufactured to look however you want them to, providing that the design will work you’re your window.
