Clear Skies in Pangbourne!

Our customers in Pangbourne near Reading has a huge amount of light coming into their kitchen-lounge. They have almost continuous windows encircling three walls of their open plan kitchen-lounge. And wanted to add a little privacy whilst being able to direct the light which streamed into their room in the direction they wanted it to.

Plantation window shutters seemed to be the answer. Being an extremely design conscious couple they wanted the shutters to fit in with their existing décor. They live a very open plan life style and they wanted their plantation shutters to work in much the same way.

The customers windows in Pangbourne consist of many windows set very close to one another encircling the room. They, with the help of the design consultant chose to fit their shutters onto the wall surrounding their windows, this means that any UPVC which the actual windows are made from, is completely hidden by the wooden shutters. This look can be achieved by our Shutterly Fabulous installers fixing the shutters directly onto the face of either a wooden surround, or the wall surrounding the window.

The shutters chosen for this home are our larger 89mm slat size and are manufactured in poplar wood, painted in Shell paint which matching hinges, they chose our open-sky slat operation system which means that there are no push-rods attached to the front of the panels, they are instead all connected to each other by an aluminium strip behind the panels as you look at them. This strip is attached to each slat which allows them to move open and closed in unison when one slat is tilted.

Choosing the open sky system for your shutters means that instantly your shutter design is transformed into a sleek stream-line product. There are no additional vertical lines which will break up your window, which means that you get to see clear-sky rather than vertical wood when you angle your shutters so the slats are open.
