Door Shutters for Kitchen Doors
Novel midrail shutters for doors in kitchen
The Panels on these kitchen shutters have been opened to show you how slatted shutters work with your windows. This customer in Worthing originally wanted half height shutters, but was really excited to hear about our other designs of shutters.
The Worthing shutters in this photo have been manufactured as full height shutter panels, but with a mid rail at the halfway point of the window, matching to the natural break in the window.
You can see this very clearly in the photo. The shutters were finished in our cloudy white paint on Poplar wood, with a push rod on the front of each panel to be able to operate the slats on the shutter open and closed on this interior door.
The panels have 64mm slats which are a very popular slat for shutters. Slatted shutters and solid shutters are both available from Shutterly Fabulous.
Midrails not only allow the shutter slats above the midrail to operate independently from those below the midrail, but midrails also strengthen panels which is ideal for doors shutters. If you have a particularly tall window, you would need to have a midrail in the shutter covering the tall window. By inputting the additional horizontal piece of wood during manufacture the sides of each panel have something solid to ensure they keep their shape.
A midrail is a great way of disguising a natural break in your window. The midrail on this shutter set aligns perfectly with the natural break in the window frame and covers it.
We can ensure that during the consultation, the midrail used to cover yours isn’t too big or too small as we have a few different midrail dimension choices. Being able to choose a smaller midrail helps to be able to maximise the light which will come through the shutters and diffuse into the room.
