Our shutters customer in Essex wanted to cover up their large patio doors with something a little more user friendly than a giant venetian blind. Having pets often means quick access to the outside is needed, its great to have a large door set from the kitchen out to your garden, but the insulating properties and privacy of a large expanse of glass is pretty low, so its great to be able to have covering over the glass so keep the warmth in and to maintain some privacy from the outside.

Shutters on large patio doors, like our Essex customers shutters, can be concertinaed back to gain access to the patio doors. Without having to raise a blind, the panels are hinged to each other allowing them to fold against one another. The shutters shown are manufactured in poplar wood, and finished with a cloud white paint and 64mm depth slats. The customer also chose to have 2 shutter panels to each section of her patio door. By choosing smaller panels, when the shutters are pulled back they will not open out into the room as far, or take up so much room if they are opened out flat against the wall.
