Shutters for odd shaped windows

Our shutters can be manufactured to fit almost any window. Whether your window requires porthole shutters, a gable end triangle shutter, a very specific size of shutter, we will work within our means to ensure that you have shutters to suit most odd shaped windows.

Our customer in North West London was actually quite surprising; they had two large arched windows at the front of their property which they actually wanted fitted with rectangle shutters. So from the inside, the shutter set followed the decorative architrave surrounding the window, rather than having an arched shutter to follow the arch of the window.

They decided on one of our standard softer white paints the cloudy white, on our poplar window shutters. Cloudy white is that little bit softer on the eye than our standard colour brightest white paint. As the shutters are completed with a UV protective coating the paint finish on the shutters will retain its colour and not fade or discolour. So many of our customer opt for a softer shade of white for their shutters which means if their paintwork is softer, or likely to fade slightly with sunlight, their shutter set will still match.

One of the great functions of shutters is that you have complete flexibility with how you use them, and how the light from the outside will enter your home. If your shutters are fitted with a mid rail, or you choose to have a break in your push rod in a certain place, the slat section above the mid rail or push rod break/split can be opened or closed independently of the shutter section below that mid rail, or push rod break or split.

This gives our customers a great amount of flexibility with how they direct the light coming into the room, and exactly how much light comes into the room. Being able to open and close louvers fully in both directions means that light can be angled away from furniture in your home, or areas that you may be worried about fading. This is particularly useful if you have a south facing window, especially during the summer months when, weather permitting, the sunlight entering your home can be really quite strong.
