Shutter Colours Influenced by African & Asian architecture

Colonial Shutters like these manufactured and fitted in our customers home in East Dulwich instantly give the home a colonial style feel – the alabaster colour of the shutters is typical of colonial design, colours influenced by African and Asian architecture.

The shutter design is typical of traditional colonial shutters, with the absence of a push rod to operate the slats; we have designed and manufactured the colonial kitchen shutters with our “open sky” louver opening system. The “open sky” rod is a hidden aluminium rod which is attached to each slat, but behind the shutter panel and to one side, so the simple tilting of one slat will open the rest of the shutter slats in unison.

The East Dulwich shutters shown are full height, they are in front of a kitchen French door. French door shutters are a great way of directing light where you want it to go when there is such a large area of glass for light to come into. They fill the entire door recess.
