Rustic Shutters Fitted in Hove Kitchen
Wood plantation kitchen shutter company
This customer is local to us here in Brighton and Hove and as such chose a local shutter company to cater for her needs.
Elm wood has a very deep grain running through it. When you run your fingers over Elm Wood, you can feel the grain, and when holding it up to the light you can see the deep grooves of the grain. Most of our customers here at Shutterly Fabulous choose a stain finish on their elm wood shutters so you can easily see the grain running through and you get to take advantage of the natural look of the product.
Poplar wood on the other hand is a very smooth wood, with a much shallower grain and much shallower grooves running through the wood, when the shutters are sanded down during the manufacturing process they leave a very smooth finish for the paint or stain applied to take to.
Our Hove Shutters customer wanted a more rustic finish to her shutters. When paint is applied to Poplar wood, a very smooth, high quality finish is achieved. The paint has a very smooth surface to cling to when the shutters are sprayed.
By choosing Elm wood instead of Poplar wood for her paint finish, the paint which is sprayed on, will not fill all of the grain grooves on the Elm Shutters, it will give the shutters a more distressed look. The grain will show through, or at least the grooves of the grain will show giving an added texture to the overall look of the shutters.
Both Poplar Wood and Elm Wood used in our shutter manufacturing are obtained from FSC certified sources.
