Custom Louvered Shutters
Louvered window shutters
These custom shutters were installed in a gable end of a converted loft room. The glazed parts of the interior window had glazing breaks with the frame and the shutter set was manufactured to copy these breaks.
The customer requested that they have an off set tilt rod to operate the slats opened and closed.
A shutter tilt rod is connected to every louver, shutter rods, sometimes known as push rods or tilt bars are the vertical bars running down the front centre of each panel, connected to each slat by a staple which is shaped and glued into place. You can read more about what parts make up shutters here.
The tilt rod, or tilt bar will control the direction of movement of the shutter slats or shutter louvers to control privacy and the direction of light.
Most often, when our customers here at Shutterly Fabulous request shutter with a push rod, the plantation shutters will have this manufactured centrally down the front of each shutter panel. If you require, we can ensure that during the manufacturing process, the tilt bars are manufactured at an off set position to one side of the shutter panel.
This shouldn’t affect the working or the mechanics of the shutter louvers, but it will give the shutter panels and shutter set a different look. This triangular shutter set was installed in Southampton on the South Coast of England. Southampton isn’t too far away from where we at Shutterly Fabulous are located. Our shutter showrooms are based in Hove, East Sussex.
We have a showroom here with examples of our bespoke shutters which you can see, but really as our shutters are bespoke, providing it will work for your windows and lifestyle, we can manufacture you a shutter set which comes made, bespoke, to your specifications.
