Conservatory Shutters in New Watlington Extension.

Shutters provide versatile conservatory window covering.

Shutters have a wide range of uses, not only are they used for covering windows, they are often used as room dividing shutters, as wardrobe doors for adventurous customers who are building their own wardrobes or as in this case, as coverings for a conservatory like extension.

Conservatory extensions obviously get a lot of sun and it’s nice to be able to control the light so that it can filter through the room as you please. Shutters are ideal for this application, they have adjustable louvers which can fully open and close in both directions.

By tilting your shutter louvers in different directions you can achieve different effects with light.

This customer chose not to cover all the glazed sections of the conservatory with shutters, so that they could still have the light pouring through the glazed ceiling of the extension. Conservatory shutters are certainly becoming more and more popular as they make the room feel like more of a room rather than an extension to the property.

Shutters help to close off the glazing and create a feeling of privacy, which is fantastic especially at night when it’s dark looking to the outside.

The Watlington customer wanted white shutters to match their white uPVC conservatory extension. They chose a bright white paint for their conservatory shutters with a medium sized slat, allowing both privacy and lots of light in.

The Watlington shutters customer opted to have a hidden push rod on their shutters. This is a system which means you don’t have a wooden rod to tilt the slats, the slats are actually connected together at the back of panels, joining all the slats together with an aluminium strip which is screwed to each shutter slat. The aluminium is painted to match the shutter, giving the feel of a hidden tilt rod.

The view between the slats is uninterrupted with a hidden push rod which is often referred to as Open Sky, or Clear View. You have the option of this or having a push rod on the front of your panels with our shutters.
