Custom Pink Bathroom Shutters on Doors

This downstairs bathroom has access to it from the garden, and as such has tall French doors. French door shutters, covering the opening and offering a bit of privacy, have been fitted. Shutters for French doors consist of tall panels; you can see on these French door shutters that they have a midrail across the centre of the shutter panels. These are custom painted pink shutters to match the decor - gorgeous!

This midrail acts as extra strengthening support for the tall panels. Not only does a midrail in a tall French door shutter give support but it also gives the shutter panel additional functionality.

The midrail acts as a break for the push rod on a shutter set. A push rod is a louver connecting rod, which is either situated on the front of a panel, or is a “hidden rod” connecting the louvers. When this has a spilt in it, caused by a mid rail being inserted into a panel it means that slats above the mid rail are connected together and will open and close in unison when a slat is tilted or the push rod is moved, and the slats below the mid rail will do the same.

This means that you can let light into the room via the slats above the mid rail whilst still maintaining privacy by keeping the slats below the midrail closed. This bathrom becomes flooded with light.
