Shutters Shutterly Perfect...
for Sussex Barn Conversion
Interior shutters continue to grow in popularity among UK home interest customers. As the number of design options available from interior shutters companies has increased, so too has the variety of homes that have had interior shutters installed.
This photo shows a Shutterly Fabulous customer who had interior shutters fitted onto their front hallway windows and front door. This area of the barn conversion was perfect for shutters as the design on the interior shutters took into account the exact design and style of the windows in the barn conversion. Placing curtains on the window of this Sussex Barn would have undoubtedly spoiled this fantastic feature window as when the curtains were opened back they would cover the side sections of the window and make entering and exiting the front door very difficult.
Interior shutters offered a great solution. They were 5 shutters installed over the main section of the window, which in the photo of the barn, are the 5 panels on the right hand side of the front door. The interior shutters on the left of this feature 2 bi fold interior shutters which can be closed over then you leave the house.
The interior shutters here also feature a mid rail, which is the solid section of horizontal wood that you can see around halfway up from the bottom of the interior shutters. This mid rail or divide rail as it is also know, has the effect of splitting control of the shutters slats on the upper and lower section of the shutters. You can therefore tilt the shutters slats at one angle on the lower section and a different angle on the upper section. On this Sussex barn conversion this gave privacy on the lower section by tilting the slats at a very slight angle and leaving the top section of slats fully open.
