Wooden and vinyl bathroom shutters

This West London property had Shutterly fabulous install wooden shutters in their bathroom as well as the rest of the property. Bathroom shutters can be manufactured from two materials. So customers will have a choice of our solid hardwood shutters, or they choose our polyvinyl shutters. There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

For bathrooms or wet rooms which have little ventilation and which will have water coming into direct contact with the shutters, we would recommend that our Shutterly Fabulous installers fit poly vinyl shutters, as the constant exposure to humidity can, over time warp wooden shutters and prevent their workings from properly functioning. Poly Vinyl Shutters can only be manufactured in white.

If our consultant is certain that there is no danger of your shutter panels being damaged by direct contact with water, or high humidity due to poor ventilation, then they will advise if it is safe to use wooden shutters. Which give a greater range of colour options and the style of the shutters can vary, for example the customer can choose whether or not they wish to use a push rod to be able to operate the shutter slats opened and closed or not.

With Poly Vinyl shutters the slats must be operated with a push rod, they cannot be manufactured without one. This is a design feature to take into account and talk through with the Shutterly Fabulous Sales Consultant.
