A key requirement of this customer in Shoreditch, London was that the shutters give privacy from passers by. This factory warehouse conversion has a large feature window at the front of the property. The window is directly adjacent to the pavement, therefore passers by were inclined to peer through the window.

Wood shutters offer the ideal solution for our Shoreditch customer. The shutters design features 5 full height shutter panels, which are mounted inside the recess, tight to the window. This means that if the customer wants to fold back the shutters to the side of the reveal, they can do so without hitting the dropped ceiling. The window has glazing bars, dividing the window into 5 sections and the panels were made to exactly match this specification. The shutters themselves are made with the width to exactly mirror the glazing bars on the window.

The shutters also have a mid rail located about 2/3 of the way up the window. The shutters mid rail gives independent control of the shutters slats above and below this point. This allows the shutters slats to be angled on the lower section for privacy, while fully open at the top, giving maximum light into the room.
