Louvre Shutters ideal for Interior Windows

Our Louvre sizes and specification

Louvre shutters, also known as plantation shutters, interior shutters, colonial shutters (and many other names besides!), have increased in popularity in the UK dramatically over the last few years. Many customers who have had plantation shutters installed say they will never go back to blinds or curtains again so it comes as no surprise that their popularity has increased!

The advantages of louvre (or slatted) shutters are numerous, a main one being their versatility. Shutterly Fabulous offers customers a choice of 4 different louvre sizes for your Plantation Shutters, 47mm (1.78”), 64mm (2.5”), 89mm (3.5”) and 114mm (4.5”). For those looking to reduce the light levels in their room then the smaller slats will help with this, simply because there are more shutter slats to help cut out the light. The 64mm louvre shutters still continue to be the most popular UK shutters we sell. However if you have larger windows or are simply looking to maximise the light entering the room, 89mm and 114mm sized louvres could give you the shutter look which best complements your windows.

At Shutterly Fabulous we have our own unique selling point with regards to louvre movement, our louvres exclusively tilt flat in both directions, meaning they can be pushed upwards or downwards. Most other shutters you see only tilt close upwards, when viewed from inside the house. This extra rotation gives you increased flexibility when is comes to blocking out the sunlight or increasing it, simply by angling the blades in different directions. Perfect for the office keeping light away from screens or in the home, keeping light away from televisions, furnishings and prying eyes away from valuable objects.
