Before ordering your Plantation Shutters, you'll need to measure your window openings
There's no doubt that the internet is a great information source and for many products, it's also a great shopping outlet. However, due to the intricacies involved in achieving a great shutter installation, we at Shutterly Fabulous do not offer an online purchasing option.
Nothing can replace the role of an expert and we're therefore committed to giving our customers the very best advice available, though direct in house consultations. However, we recognise that many customers want to gain a feel for the costs involved in purchasing plantation shutters and we're happy to provide an approximate estimate via e-mail or over the phone.
To achieve this, we need to know the window dimensions and whether you prefer a paint or stained finish. We've detailed below some information on how to measure your window openings. |
Measuring for an Outside mount (many sash or bay type windows) |
Width
With your steel tape, measure from the outside opening from the left side to the obstacle that projects furthest from the right side of the window. Take this measurement at the bottom, middle and top of the window opening. Select the widest of measurements as the correct measurement. This will give you the measurement which will determine the width of your window.

Height
With your steel tape, measure from the outside opening from the top side to the obstacle that projects furthest from the bottom side of the window. Take this measurement at the left, middle, and right of the window opening. Select the longest of measurements as the correct measurement. This will give you the measurement which will determine the height of your window.
